In this post, I show you how to make a rainbow amigurumi in kawaii style. Follow the amigurumi pattern in the video.

We begin this tutorial by making the clouds with the amigurumi technique, then I’ll explain how to make the rainbow in different colors, work the double crochet, and finally how to embroider the little face on the clouds and assemble them on the rainbow.

I tried to make it as simple as possible, so that even a beginner can try their hand at an easy project.

So I expect to read your comment below this tutorial to have an opinion and obviously, if you make it, send me the photo to info@giuliapinkytime.com, so I will insert it in the gallery below this post!

Yarn and accessories

To make the rainbow, I used HOBBII RAINBOW COTTON 8/4 cotton yarns with a 2.5 mm crochet hook.

Video tutorial: rainbow amigurumi

Watch the video to find out how to make the clouds first and then the rainbow.

Below, you can find the descriptive pattern.

(The pattern is with US terminology.)

You’ll work in a back-and-forth row, working on an initial magic ring, to recreate a semicircle.

Fasten off and cut the yarn.

Repeat the pattern to make a second colored semicircle, and then join them together by working a single stitch with the yellow yarn from the second semicircle, which you will not have to cut.

Before closing completely, insert some padding inside. (The choice is optional; you can also leave it flat if you like.)

The clouds are worked with the amigurumi technique, in the round in a spiral. Use the stitch marker to mark the last stitch of each round, and you will move it as you go to complete a new round.

Cut the thread, leaving the end at least 20 cm long, so you can use it to attach the cloud with stitches to the rainbow.
