👉 Work regular increases until you reach the desired diameter.
Start using the gold Thai cord and a 5 mm crochet hook.
- Round 1: MR and work inside 8 SC (8)
- Round 2: 8 INC (16)
- Round 3: * 1 SC, INC * ; REP * 8 times (24)
- Round 4: 1 SC, INC, *2 SC, INC *; REP * 7 times and finish with 1 SC in the last stitch (32)

- Rounds 8-9: 48 SC (48×2)
- Round 10: 2 SC, DEC, *4 SC, DEC*; REP * 7 times and finish with 2 SC (40)
Basket Body
Once the base is complete, continue without increases to build the height.
Maintain even tension to achieve straight and compact sides, perfect for holding eggs or supporting a bottle.
- Round 11-17: 1 SC in each stitches around (40×7)
If you want to recreate the two-color version shown in the video:
- 2 rounds white
- 1 round gold
- 2 rounds white
- 2 rounds gold
Bunny Ears
The ears are the signature feature of the crochet bunny basket.
You can make them:
- directly on the edge of the basket
or - separately and sew them on
👉 For a more realistic look, make them slightly elongated.
⭐ Ear Stitch
Chain 5 and work as follows:
- 1 dc in the 3rd chain from hook
- 1 dc in the next chain
- 1 hdc in the last chain
- 1 slip stitch at the base of the chain
- Round 18: 1 SC in the first stitch, * make 1 EAR STITCH, SL ST in the next stitch, make another EAR STITCH, then 1 SC in the next 6 stitches, 1 SL ST *; REP from * to * until 5 stitches remain, work 1 SC in each of the last 5 stitches. Close with a slip stitch.
