A glitter yarn and a simple crochet apple can be a wonderful combination to make a Christmas tree ornament!
I’m happy to show you a tutorial to make a Christmas apple ornament, I find it so beautiful to decorate my Christmas Tree and you?
Used glitter yarn to make a Christmas apple amigurumi
- 🧶 ORO Mondial red and green glitter yarn
- Crochet hook 3,5 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Stitch marker
Any kind of yarn can be used, but the effect this glittery yarn gives is unmatched!
Here can you see a gold apple and a red apple with gold leaf or green glitter leaf
Work separate apple and leaf.
Apple is worked in continuous round with amigurumi technique, it will be useful stitch marker.
The leaf is worked in round on a foundation chain, and then you have to make a loop that will be used to hang it on the tree.
Work in continuous round without closing at the end and do not start with a chain.
Use a stitch marker to mark the first or the last stitch of each round and move it up.

Make 1 SL ST in the next stitch to close and fasten off.
Cut the yarn and leave a long tail
Pass the thread through the sphere made, from the upper center point to the lower one, pulling lightly until it forms a hollow above the sphere.
Stop the tension by making a knot at the base to maintain shape.
Pass the thread from bottom to top and cut.
🍃 Crochet leaf
To crochet the leaf you have to make a foundation chain and work in round.
|1||16 CHs. Make 1 SC in the 2nd CH from hook and in the next 3. 1 TC in the next 5 CHs, 1 DC in the next 3 CHs, 1 SC in the next 2 CHs, 2 SC in the last CH.|
Work in the opposite side of the foundation chain
1 SC in the next 2 CHs, 1 DC in the next 3, 1 TC in the next 5, 1 DC in the next 3, 1 SC in the last CH.
|2||1 SC in each stitches around.|
Make 25 CHs and join in ring with 1 SL ST in the first CHs to form a loop. Cut the yarn and leave a long tail. Use it to sew the leaf on the apple.
🧵 Assembling the Christmas apple with the leaf
Pass the thread through the top center of the apple to the base and make an X, so the leaf is pinned to the apple, and you can hang it on the tree.
