Reinforced Basket Base

Reinforced Basket Base

Repeat rounds 1–8 to create a second circle, which will be sewn to the base of the basket.

After round 8, make 1 slip stitch in the next stitch and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Pass the yarn through the back loop of the new circle stitches and through the 9th round of the basket (the stitches worked in the back loop only).

Basket with Handle

Follow the instructions for the basket from rounds 1–4.

  • Round 5: 1 SC in each stitches around BACK LOOP ONLY (24)
  • Rounds 6-9: 1 SC in each stitches around (24×4)

Now create the central handle by chaining 10, then working 1 single crochet in each chain to return to the basket base.

Work 1 single crochet all around the basket, then finish with a reverse single crochet (crab stitch).

Close with a slip stitch and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail to sew the handle’s other side.
