In this tutorial, I show you how to crochet a hedgehog amigurumi. Are you ready? Let’s take your crochet hook and start!

Rasty“, the amigurumi hedgehog, is made with cotton yarn and the parts you have to crochet are:

  • head and body in one piece;
  • arms, simple tubular
  • feet, two circle to fix on the base of the body
  • ears, two little circles
  • pointed snout with a black bead sewn on the tip

Used yarn and accessories

prepare the following materials:

  • 50 gr cotton yarn of fine thickness (2) in two different colors, I used the two show you in the photo below

To make the amigurumi hedgehog tutorial, I used the ICE YARNS Camilla Cotton yarn in camel color (23786) and the TRESFERE Fiocco yarn in rust brown color (7190)

  • Crochet hook size 3 mm
  • pins to secure the parts
  • stitch marker
  • amigurumi eyes in different colors (link Amazon 👉 Security eyes for amigurumi

If you use the same thickness of yarn and hook size, the final size will be approximately 11cm tall

How to insert the amigurumi eyes

Take two little eyes and insert them between the 31st and 32nd round, at a distance of 5 stitches between one and the other, immediately above the sides of the nose.

Take the thread of another contrasting color to work the back with the BOBBLE STITCH, but I invite you to watch the video tutorial to understand how to do the EMBROIDERY STITCH on the body you have just done.

I remind you that the BOBBLE STITCH is done by making 3 double crochets closed together in the same point and ch 1, before continuing with 1 Sc in the next stitch and then repeating the BOBBLE STITCH.
